| Project Description | The project goal is to give an impetus to the reform of the penitentiary institutions. A second goal is prevention of torture and inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment of detainees in penitentiary institutions. This goal will be achieved by means of investigation the problem and elaborating concrete strategies for prisons and investigation facilities. The organization will conduct systematic monitoring of prisons, prison hostels, investigation detention facilities, juvenile reformatory institutions, and will publish analyses of the general conditions of detention. Strategic litigation will be used as mechanism to promote the international standards. |
